First attempt at the Icon

I thought as some good practice before the brutal assault of my honours project begins, I would attempt to make an Icon inspired by the shapes I had created in WeaveSilk. I took my favourite one and decided to see if I could model it.

Turns out I couldn’t.


Modelling what is effectively particle strands and thin fabric like stretches are incredibly difficult to create in Maya and i’m not confident enough in Zbrush to attempt it there. If I do make this, it’s going to have to be a complex arrangement of alpha mapped planes, or a fuller thicker shape, because this way isn’t working at all!
